Are you thinking about creating a short movie or TV program? then you have come to the right place. Here I will show what you will need to do to create a short movie and what it takes to create a good piece of work.

 
First of all you will need to decide on whether you are making a short film or a TV program as it makes a huge difference when it comes down to film making. This is important to know because when it comes to creating a TV programs they are shot with multiple cameras. were as a movie you only have to use one camera so therefore I would prefer and suggest to create a short movie as it will be less time consuming and will be a lot more easier to make when making your first piece of work. Which will give you more time for other important things. 

One thing you will need to discuss and produce with the people you will be working with, is you will need to write a scrip for your short movie. You will need to work with your peers and create a script that is fitting to your movie. So for example if you wanted to create a sad movie you would create a script that will touch people because you couldn't have a sad movie with comedy from start to finish. you could add little scenes in but not when it comes to the sad part as it would confuse the audience. One way in which you could work on your script is doing research. When doing research you could look at other peoples scrips and look at how they have based there scripts of there story's. 

When creating a short film you will need to work on how you will manage your time. It is important that you do this because if you do not do this will find that you will struggle when it come to film making and especially when it comes to film production. One way in which you can manage your timing is you could create a time table. This would help with managing your timing because it is showing you what to do and when and it is also showing you how long it will take to do before creating your short film.

Now another important factor of film making is to make sure you know what things to include. For example when it comes to making a film you will need the obvious things like actors, props and sound but you also have to think about camera angles, locations etc. It is important to include these things when creating a short film because it will help to create a better film. You would need to include the location of were the film is based because if you did not the audience would struggle when it would come to following the movie. The location also helps with when you set what time your movie is in, for example say your movie is in the wild west, you would have to decide on whether you would have it in the past or present day. This makes a huge difference because then it will help you to decide what props to use in your movie. You would also need to think about what camera angles to use because this can turn your work from week and poor to strong and powerful. Camera angles can effect your movie massively because it can set the mood or tell a story in its self. Camera angles can also show the actors emotions or what is going on, for example if there was a scene were an actor was crying you could have a close up on the actors face. And you will also have to discuss with your peers who you will have acting what parts. 




When it comes to creating a movie one important key factor that you will need to think about is how you manage your money and how to budget for your movie. first you will need to create a spread sheet that will show how much things will cost. You will need to look at How much it will cost you for a day and then look at how many days you will need to use the equipment or items for then workout from there how much it will come to in total. This will help when it comes to budgeting because it will help give you a clear view on ow much you will need and if you do go over budget how much over you have gone and how much more you will have to payout. when it comes to budgeting there is a lot more to budget for then you would think that you wold need to. As you will need to think about equipment but with equipment you would need an operator for those pieces of equipment then you would also need to think about food for the people who are working on your movie so you would need to think about renting a food van for however long you will have your staff working for. 

  

You will also really need to think about how you will communicate with the people you are working with. You need to think about this because you need to think about how they will know what it is that you are looking for when creating your movie. One way in which you could do this is by creating a letter that you could send to all your co-workers and everyone that you have working for you, about what it is that you want from this movie and what it is that you are expecting. you could also talk about how you would expect your employees to act and the standards that you expect. You could create this letter on word and once you have written your letter you will need to set up a chain mail so you can send the letter to everyone that you need to send it to. Another way you will need to communicate with you employees is you will need to make sure they know what it is that you are expecting from your movie. For example say you had created a story board and wanted to base your movie of it, you story board then you would need to show your co-workers and employees what it is that you want so they know what you want and so they know what to do. 



Finally you will also need to make sure that you have got the right kind of permission to legally broadcast your film. And what type of documents you would need to prove this. When it comes to making sure you have the right permission to use something in your movie is by making sure that what you are using can not be used against you as copy write. For example in avatar when creating there movie they were took to court as they were accused of copy write as they used floating islands in there movies and one man believed that it was his drawings that they had used. Another example is in the movie hangover. In this movie one of the main characters wakes up in a bath tub with a tattoo on his face that was like Mike Tyson tattoo on his face. This was then took to court as the man that created the tattoo for Mike Tyson face was not happy that they used that tattoo in there movie without his permission. Unfortunately he did not win his case. So as you can see you can be accused of copy write over things that you would not have thought that you could have been questioned about. One was in which you can prove that you have permission to use things that may be other peoples ideas is you can create a document that would state that they are giving you permission to use there idea and then get them to sign the document.
