The development and history of television and film.

When it comes to the development and history of television and film, a lot has changed. From satellite to on-demand viewing. People have been using these techniques for years, and over the years they have improved for the better.

Satellite and cable:

Cable-satellite has been around since 1976 and is still widely used by the population. Cable-satellite was being used to show television programming to remote cable television headends. home box office (HBO), turner broadcasting system (TSB), and christian broadcasting network (CBN now the family channel). These were the first to use satellite television to deliver programming, the first person to receive c-brand satellite signals with his home-built system was a man called Taylor Howard in San-Andrea, California in 1976.

By 1978 a non-profit public broadcasting services began to use satellite to distribute its television programming. And by 1979 soviet engineers developed a system of broadcasting and delivering of TV signals via satellites. This was called moska (or Moscow).

Internet:

After about 15 years after the first computer became usable many people began to realise that an interconnection network of computers could provide services that transcended the capabilities of a single system. At this time many computers were becoming more powerful and a number of scientists that were beginning to realise the applications that went far beyond the basic numerical calculations. Perhaps the most fascinating early description of these opportunities was presented by J.C.R Licklider who argued that, In a few years computers would become powerful enough to cooperate with people when it comes to scientific experiments and problems. Licklider was a psychologist at Massachusetts in situate of technology also know as MIT, Licklider would start to realise his vision when he became director of the information possessing techniques office also know as IPFO at the advanced research protect agency ARPA in 1962. About 90% of the population depends on internet. Hospitals, school, work. You name it they depend on it. Internet has now became a state of life than a luxury. And is being made to have speeds of up to 200 Mbps to satisfy everyone. Many brands such as sky, BT and virgin highly compete with each other to have the best deals and broadband.

On demand viewing.

On-demand viewing is systems which allow users to select and watch any video or audio that then want to view. You can get a vary of things on on-demand viewing from TV shows to movies. On-demand viewing means that you can watch anything from anytime that you want and majority of the time you don't have to deal with advertisements. Television VOD systems can either stream content through a set-top box, a computer or other device, allowing viewing in real time, or you can download it to a device such as a computer, digital video recorder or a portable media player for viewing at any time. Many cable and telephone company based television providers offer both VOD treaming, which includes per-per viewing and free content, whereby a user buys or elects a movie or television program and it begins to play on the television set almost instantaneously, or downloading to a digital video recorder rented or purchased from the provider, or downloaded onto a PC or to a portable device, for viewing in the future.
