Why do we carry out research in media?
we carry out research in media because it help when producing the movie or program. For example say if you were making a movie and in the movie there was a certain culture and if the person who was producing the movie guessed at how people act when in that culture or what they can or can't do the producer would not get it right which would effect him massively as it would make his fans and viewers of him movies believe that he is unprofessional and not know what the he is doing. Therefore if you research about things when producing a movie you will find out what they do so you will nit get it wrong and it will be factually right.
market, audience and production research.
Market research is important to think about because if you don know what movies are doing well and what are not. Then how would you know how to make a hit movie or how to create a movie that will make enough money to create a profit. you would also look at what the competition is doing with there movies and how well there movies are doing so you would know what you need to do to create a better movie then your competition. you also have to look at what audiences create the best sellers. And what age is most viewed. therefore if you know what age group to go for the more likely to have a hit movie that everyone will love. you would also need to know what gender you are aiming your movie at. And you will also have to look at production research because say you have your movie pr program set in the past you would have to research what life was like in the past how they did thinks. As you couldn't have a movie set on the wild west and have a cowboy with a mobile phone, It just wouldn't look right and wouldn't be factually correct. therefore your viewers would get confused as they would believe that you wouldn't know what you were doing or what you were going on about.
Primary and secondary in media.
- primary in media is having people filling out surveys so you can have a look at the statistics which is looking at the facts that is 100% true.
- And secondary in media is online research. so using programs like google to find out your information which can not be 100% correct all the time.
